Haldoor

Discover Haldoor, the first pillar of the HAWADI leadership framework. Learn why being an unwavering, responsible decision-maker is crucial for succes

Haldoor: The First Pillar of the HAWADI Perspective

Welcome to Hawadiye’s civic platform...

Haldoor the first pillar of HAWADI prospective

Haldoor is the first attribute of the HAWADI philosophy, and it is the first and most crucial pillar of effective leadership. Linguistically in Somali, "Haldoor" means a decisive person, someone who does not hesitate, someone who reaches a decision in any situation.

Haldoornimadu (Decisiveness) isn't just about making a decision; it is making the right decision, at the appropriate time, based on data, and being ready to take responsibility for the outcome of that decision.

Why is Haldoornimo important?

1. Time is the life of the community

In the Somali Region and generally everywhere Somalis are, emergencies (droughts, conflicts, clan battles, elections, development projects) are frequent. A leader who cannot make quick decisions brings loss of life and wealth to their community.

2. People's trust depends on it

People follow someone they see can make decisions even when it is difficult, and who does not run away from responsibility.

3. Lack of decisiveness causes chaos

When a leader delays a decision or procrastinates, it begins that everyone makes their own individual decision → infighting, destruction, and lost opportunities.

Attributes of a True Haldoor

Attribute Description
Courage Being able to make a decision even amidst fear and threats.
Prudence Not rushed and not delayed – taken at the appropriate time.
Data Collection Reliable data is gathered before any decision.
Full Responsibility You own both the good and bad outcomes of the decision.
Consistency Once a decision is made, execute it; do not turn back without reason.
Justice/Fairness The decision cannot be one that favors a specific person or clan.

How to train yourself in Haldoornimo

  • 1
    Start with small decisions

Decide today: what you will eat, when you will sleep, and when you will wake up. Sticking to these small decisions builds the habit for you.

  • 2
    Decide after Istikhara

Pray Istikhara, then make a decision and do not hesitate.

  • 3
    Write down pros and cons

Write the advantages of the decision and potential disadvantages on paper – then decide.

  • 4
Seek an advisor, but the decision is yours

Consult experienced people, but ultimately the decision is yours.

  • 5
    When you decide, execute

No decision is often worse than a wrong decision.

Haldoor and the other pillars of HAWADI

Haldoor cannot work alone. To be complete leadership:

It must go with Aamin (Trust - people must trust you with your decision).

It must be based on Waayo-aragnimo (Experience - because without experience, Haldoor can be dangerous).

It must lead to Indheer-garadnimo (Vision - the decision must illuminate the future).

Conclusion

A leader without Haldoornimo is a leader that does not exist. Haldoor is the beating heart of HAWADI. Anyone wanting to be a true Hawadiye must start by becoming a Haldoor – a decision-maker who does not fear the responsibility of their decision, does not hesitate in justice, and does not delay the progress of their people.

Haldoor: Tiirka Koowaad ee HAWADI

Haldoor: Tiirka Koowaad ee HAWADI

Haldoor alifi kara Waayo-arag aamin ah Daadaheeye Indheer-garad ah waa lix tayo iyo tilmaamo gooni ku ah hogaanka wax-ku-oolka ah

Haldoor

Haldoor waa sifada koowaad ee falsafada HAWADI, waana tiirka ugu horreeya uguna muhiimsan ee hogaanka wax-ku-oolka ah. Erayga “Haldoor” luuqad ahaan af-Soomaaliga waxa uu macnaheedu yahay qof go’aan adag sameeya, qof aan ka labalabayn, qof xaalad kasta go’aan ku gaadha.

Haldoornimadu ma aha oo keliya in aad go’aan sameyso, ee waa in aad sameyso go’aan sax ah, waqti ku habboon, xog ku salaysan, oo aad diyaar u tahay in aad qaadatid masuuliyadda waxa ka yimaada go'aankaas.

Maxay Haldoornimadu muhiim u tahay?

1. Waqtigu waa nolosha bulshada

Deegaanka Soomaalida, xaaladaha degdegga ah (abaaro, colaado, doorashooyin) ayaa badan. Hogaamiyaha aan go’aanka degdeg u samayn karin wuxuu khasaare nafeed iyo mid maaliyadeedba u keenaa bulshadiisa.

2. Kalsoonida dadka

Dadku waxay raacaan qof ay arkaan in uu go’aan gaadhikaro xitaa marka ay adag tahay, ee uusan ka cararin masuuliyadda.

3. Haldoornimo la’aantu waa fowdo

Marka hogaamiye go’aan ka gaabiyo, waxaa bilaabata in qof kasta uu go’aan u gaar ah sameeyo → is-qabqabsi, burbur, iyo luminta fursado.

Astaamaha Haldoor dhabta ah

Astaanta Sharaxaad
Geesinimo In aad go’aan qaadan karto xitaa marka ay jiraan cabsi iyo hanjabaad.
Taxadar Aan lagu degdegin oo aan laga gaabin – waqti ku habboon ayaa la qaataa.
Xog-ururin Go’aan kasta ka hor, xog sugan ayaa la ururiyaa.
Masuuliyad buuxda Go’aanka wanaagsan iyo kan xunba adiga ayaa leh.
Joogtayn Go’aan la qaato waa la fuliyaa, dib looma noqdo sabab la’aan.
Caddaalad Go’aanku ma noqon karo mid qof ama beel gaar ah u hiilinaya.

Sida aad Haldoornimo ugu tababarto naftaada

  • 1
    Bilow go’aan yaryar

Maanta go’aan gaadh: waxa aad cuni doonto, goorta aad seexan doonto. Ku adkeysiga go’aanadan yaryar ayaa kuu dhisa caado.

  • 2
    Istikhara ka dib go’aan qaado

Tuko istikhara ka dib go’aan qaado oo ha ka labalabayn.

  • 3
    Qor faa’idooyinka iyo khasaaraha

Warqad ku qor faa’idooyinka iyo khasaaraha suurtagalka ah – ka dib go’aan qaado.

  • 4
Raadi lataliye laakiin go’aanka adigaa leh

Latasho Dadka waayo-arag ah, laakiin aakhirka go’aanka adigaa leh.

  • 5
    Marka aad go’aan qaadatid, fuli

Go’aan la’aan ayaa ka xun go’aan qaldan marar badan.

Haldoor iyo tiirarka kale

Haldoor keligiis ma shaqeyn karo. Si uu u noqdo hogaan dhamaystiran:

Waa in uu la socdaa Aamin (dadku in ay kugu aaminaan go’aankaaga). Waa in uu ku salaysnaadaa Waayo-aragnimo (waayo khibrad la’aan Haldoorku wuxuu noqon karaa qatar). Waa in uu horseedo Indheer-garadnimo (go’aanku waa in uu ifiyo mustaqbalka).

Gabagabo

Hogaamiyaha aan Haldoornimo lahayn waa hogaamiye aan jirin. Haldoor waa wadnaha garaaca ee HAWADI. Qof kasta oo doonaya in uu noqdo Hawadiye dhab ah, waa in uu bilaabaa in uu noqdo Haldoor – go’aan-qaate aan ka cabsan masuuliyadda go'aankiisa.

Lixda Tiir ee HAWADI

Socdaalkaygii aan ku fiirsanayey oo aan ka milicsanayey hogaanka, guulihiisa iyo cilladihiisa, ayaa ii horseeday in aan soo koobo lixdaan sifooyin ee muhiimka ah. Xaraf kasta oo "Hawadi" ah waxa uu qeexayaa tiir muhiim ah:

H Haldoor Go'aan-qaate, sameeya doorashooyin waqti ku habboon oo si fiican loo tixgeliyey.
A Alife Initiator Bilaabe, Hal-abuure, dhimbiisha hurisa horumarka oo fikradaha cusub u keenta fulinta.
W Waayo-arag Hogaamiyaha khibradda leh, oo xikmaddiisu ku qotonto faham qoto dheer oo waagii hore iyo hadda.
A Aamin Hogaamiyaha la aamini karo, oo daacadnimadiisu tahay saldhigga dhammaan xidhiidhada iyo dadaallada.
D Daadaheeye Tababaraha, hagaha awood siiya kuwa kale in ay koraan oo ay gaaraan awoodooda buuxda.
I Indheer Garad Aragtida dheer leh, una jaangooya mustaqbalka wado cad.

Maxaa sameeya hogaamiye wax-ku-ool ah?

Hawadiye waxay soo bandhigaysaa qaab-dhismeedka "Hawadi Lead", oo daaha ka rogaya lixdaas sifooyin ee muhiimka ah. Sahaminta falsafaddan hogaamineed!

Lixdaan sifooyin ma aha kuwo gooni ah; si qoto dheer oo is-xoojinaya ayay isugu xidhan yihiin. "Hogaanka" dhabta ah waxa uu leeyahay isku-dhafka sifooyinkan, isaga oo ka faa'iidaysanaya mid kasta sida loogu baahdo si uu uga gudbo caqabadaha kala duwan ee hogaaminta.

Waxaan muujin doona sida lixdaan tiir ay si wada jir ah u qeexayaan nuxurka hogaamiyaha "Hawadiye".

Maxaa Xiga?

Maqaallada soo socda, waxaanu bilaabi doonnaa safar aan ku fur-furno mid kasta oo ka mid ah sifooyinkan si gooni ah. Waxaanu si qoto dheer u dhex gali doonnaa macnahooda, muhiimaddooda, iyo sida ay uga muuqdaan hogaanka wax-ku-oolka ah.

Waxaanu sahamin doonnaa tusaalooyin dhab ah oo adduunka ka jira, ka wada hadli doonnaa xeeladaha wax-ku-oolka ah ee lagu kobcin karo sifooyinkan, oo aanu tixgelin doonno ku habboonaantooda xaalado kala duwan, gaar ahaan deegaanka Soomaalida.

Civic Clarity: Why Transparent Systems Build Stronger Communities

Civic Clarity :Discover how HAWADI framework transforms transparency into trust, participation, and shared ownership—empowering citizens through clarity, inclusion, and ethical leadership across public systems.

Opening Reflection

In every health facility, governance meeting, or civic campaign, one principle determines whether systems succeed or stall: civic clarity. It’s not just about communication — it’s about making public systems understandable, accessible, and trustworthy.

When citizens know what’s happening, why it matters, and how to act, participation grows. When systems speak clearly, communities respond with confidence. That’s the power of civic clarity.

What Is Civic Clarity?

Civic clarity is the practice of designing public-facing processes, documents, and decisions so that they are:

  • Easy to understand: no jargon, no confusion
  • Inclusive: accessible to all communities and languages
  • Transparent: showing who decides what, and why
  • Actionable: enabling informed participation

It’s the difference between bureaucracy and empowerment. Between silence and shared ownership.

How Hawadiye Operationalizes Civic Clarity

Civic clarity at Hawadiye is embedded in the HAWADI Lead framework — six leadership qualities that guide how clarity becomes action.

👉 Learn more: Hawadi Lead Framework

Each quality turns clarity into civic practice — building trust, participation, and shared ownership.

Why It Matters

  • In health systems: Patients navigate facilities with dignity and confidence.
  • In governance: Citizens understand policies and hold institutions accountable.
  • In civic culture: Communities feel respected, informed, and proud to engage.

Without clarity, systems stall. With clarity, they thrive.

Closing Reflection

Civic clarity is not a luxury — it’s a public right. It transforms leadership into trust, and systems into shared understanding. Through the HAWADI Lead framework, Hawadiye makes clarity not just visible — but actionable.

Let’s build systems that honor both the voice and the mission.

Listen Broadly, Act Selectively: A Principle for Civic Clarity and Leadership

Listen Broadly, Act Selectively

Listen Broadly, Act Selectively: A Principle for Civic Clarity and Leadership

True leadership is translating voices into action. Learn to Listen Broadly, Act Selectively and transform community narratives into focused, strategic civic change.

In a world overflowing with voices, data, and competing priorities, true leadership is not about hearing less — it’s about listening more, and then acting with precision. “Listen broadly, act selectively” is more than a phrase; it’s a discipline that transforms diverse stories into actionable strategies.

Broad Listening Builds Trust

Communities, teams, and institutions thrive when every voice is heard. By listening broadly, leaders demonstrate profound respect for diverse perspectives, capturing the full narrative without interruption or inherent bias. This radical inclusivity strengthens trust and ensures no critical insight is overlooked or lost in the noise of the system.

Selective Action Creates Impact

Acting selectively does not mean ignoring perspectives; it means expertly distilling what enriches the core mission. From the full, diverse narrative, effective leaders identify the elements that critically advance clarity, equity, and sustainable progress. Selective action is the essence of focus — turning an abundance of information into a limited set of high-leverage, actionable priorities.

From Noise to Guiding Narrative

Broad listening gathers the essential raw material: lived experiences, key frustrations, hard-won successes, and collective aspirations. Selective action then shapes that material into a coherent, guiding narrative that informs policy, documentation, or civic engagement campaigns. This principle acts as the crucial bridge between deep empathy and focused execution.

Practical Applications of the Principle

This discipline can be applied across all sectors to drive intentional progress:

  • In Health Facilities: Listen to the insights of clinical staff, patients, and administrators; act selectively on the workflows that fundamentally improve access and patient outcomes.
  • In Governance: Hear the full spectrum of community concerns and civic demands; act selectively on the systemic reforms that demonstrably strengthen equity and institutional transparency.
  • In Organizational Culture: Welcome and document diverse employee stories and experiences; act selectively on the practices that tangibly reinforce mutual trust, ethical conduct, and organizational pride.

Closing Reflection

Leadership in the modern era demands both radical openness and rigorous discipline. To listen broadly is to honor the richness and complexity of the human experience. To act selectively is to honor the serious responsibility of decision-making and resource allocation.

Together, Listen Broadly, Act Selectively forms a resilient principle that ensures civic life, institutions, and organizations are guided by clarity, driven by impact, and defined by resilience.

At Hawadiye, we believe civic clarity begins with inclusive listening — and leadership begins with focused action.

🔹 Every action must serve the mission.
Let’s build systems that honor both.

Setting the Standard: Two-Star SLIPTA Status Paves Way for ISO 15189 Accreditation

Karamardha General Hospital proudly announces its attainment of the prestigious SLIPTA Two-Star certification, a significant milestone that formalizes the hospital's commitment to delivering high-quality, internationally compliant laboratory services. This achievement makes Karamardha General Hospital only the second facility in the region to earn this recognition.

The certification is the direct result of a specialized training program focused on Laboratory Quality Management Systems (LQMS) and Malaria Microscopy. Led by the hospital administration in close partnership with the Regional Health Bureau’s Laboratory Department, the program engaged 30 participants. The training was specifically organized to address the operational gaps needed to secure the Two-Star status and accelerate progress toward ISO 15189 accreditation.

"This Two-Star certification is a testament to the unwavering commitment of our staff. It confirms that we are not just meeting regional expectations, but aligning our laboratory practices with global standards, a crucial step on our path to full ISO 15189 accreditation. We celebrate this milestone, but we also recognize the continued work needed to secure the highest level of quality for every patient."

Commitment to Continuous Excellence

During a closing ceremony, the hospital leadership recognized personnel whose exceptional efforts contributed to this landmark achievement. Awards were presented to:

  • Staff members instrumental in securing the SLIPTA certification milestone.
  • The top-performing laboratory personnel from the first quarter of the 2018 Ethiopian Fiscal Year.

This success underscores the hospital’s strategic dedication to operational excellence and its proactive investment in staff capacity to continuously improve healthcare services for the community.
